The “Dimensions” reel is a motion graphics bumper sequence designed and animated by Eric Jordan to introduce “Restoring the Web,” a special talk by Eric Jordan and Tony Novak, founders of 2Advanced Studios at the Digital Design Days Conference in Milan Italy in 2024. Created to build anticipation and capture the essence of web restoration, the sequence marks the duo’s return to the world of interactive design, inviting viewers to rediscover the energy and artistry that once defined the experiential landscape of the Web.
This year’s conference in Milan drew an impressive crowd, with over 3,000 attendees—including some of the world’s leading designers, top-tier creative studios, and influential digital brands. The event became a vibrant hub for creative professionals, offering a rare chance to connect with industry legends and rising talent alike. The presence of renowned studios such as Territory Studio, The Fabricant, Lusion, Ouchhh, Fantasy, and many others underscored the event’s global significance and high caliber. The project holds special significance as the founders of Digital Design Days personally invited Eric Jordan and Tony Novak to speak in a prime headline time slot on the main stage at the event. Their hour-long talk, “Restoring the Web,” focused on bringing back the interactivity and creativity that once made the web magical, inspiring a new generation to reimagine what’s possible in digital experiences.
After their talk, 2Advanced enjoyed a unique opportunity to connect with colleagues, fans, and fellow innovators from around the world. The atmosphere was vibrant as the team engaged in discussions regarding current state of the Web, exchanging ideas and experiences with attendees who shared a passion for creative digital design. A highlight of the gathering was a special, intimate meetup between 2Advanced Studios and the Rive team, focused on helping Rive further evolve their animation platform – which is in many ways reminiscent of the creative possibilities once offered by Flash technology. This collaborative meetup allowed for meaningful feedback and the sharing of practical experiences, reinforcing a genuine sense of community reminiscent of the Flash era.
