The city of Dubai on the Persian Gulf coast of the United Arab Emirates reached out to Eric Jordan to develop the visual design for the 2019 New Year’s Eve show at the Burj Khalifa – one of the world’s tallest skyscrapers. Over the course of 4 weeks a series of pitch concepts were created for the animated NYE countdown animation, including over 90 visual layouts, 3D structures, messaging screens, and light patterns to help the engineers construct the look of the show. The massive show incorporates lights, lasers, fireworks, synchronized water fountains, and massive visual 830 meter (2,717 ft) tall projections across the exterior of the skyscraper, with an estimated 2 million people in attendance..
