ABOUT THE PIECE

“Andy Bauch’s New Money series launched in 2016, exploring the relationship between tangible and intangible assets through cryptocurrency-embedded LEGO artworks. The advent of NFTs brings a reexamination of the physical and the digital, and along with it, a newfound energy for the New Money series. Starting with Dogecoin, Initially Valued at $10, Andy Bauch’s first NFT dives digitally further into the subject matter, utilizing augmented reality as the creative glue between the physical and digital realms. A collaboration with motion artist, Eric Jordan, the release includes:

(1) A 1/1 motion art NFT that comes with the original LEGO artwork, measuring 36” x 47.25” x 2” and composed of 15,045 LEGO bricks. AR (no app required) unlocks digital layers of content mapped to the physical original, enabling the piece to come to life in the collector’s home.

(2) A limited edition of 100 NFTs that come with 18” x 24” motion art prints, which also come to life in their collectors’ homes through unlockable digital augmented reality layers of content (no app required).
